Seeta Patel Dance: Rite of Spring

Sat 18 June, 3pm & 9.30pm

Cancelled - Sat 10 September. 3pm & 8pm

Cancelled

Bell Square and The London Borough of Hounslow have made the joint decision to cancel this event (scheduled for 10 Sept at 3pm and 8pm)

As a creative organisation with a community focus, we work with public and community sector partners and the decision to cancel has been taken jointly with them at this time of national mourning.

Taking the South Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam with it's intricate rhythmic footwork, geometric and dynamic movements and expressive prowess, Seeta has created a compelling and visually breathtaking interpretation of the iconic Rite of Spring with 6 dancers.

Normally seen in solo presentations, Bharatanatyam is an incredibly rich art form that is being recognised more and more globally within a wider dance landscape.

About the company

Seeta Patel Dance creates live stage performances focusing on classical Indian and contemporary dance and dance theatre. Live performance is supported by Audience Development (post show talks), Outreach (workshops), Advocacy (female leadership programs/talks) and crucially Talent Development.

Supporting young talent is a cornerstone of the company’s vision. The Company prides itself in providing an aspirational environment where young people in this sector can see the true value of the art form and its place in the world, supporting artists through workshops/masterclasses, mentoring and apprenticeship programmes.

Whilst restrictions have lifted on how we all enjoy public spaces we ask all our visitors to be mindful of others wishing to share the space with them. If you are able please wear a face cover and make space for others around you.
