MIRROR CITIES: Into the Earth by TENDAYI VINE
Commissioned as part of Artcast4D Mirror Cities: Into the Earth is an outdoor visual artwork that builds on the artist’s most recent exhibition at Watermans exploring the significance of the Malaysian Gutta Percha tree in the development of global communications – the tree’s sap was used to make the casings that wrapped the cables laid across the Atlantic in the 19th Century and eventually was replaced by plastics.
