Bell Square’s programme of outdoor arts is produced by Watermans.
Watermans works as a producer, curator, and connector, bringing together artists and audiences to present international outdoor performance and new media art at Bell Square London, a programme for Disabled children and young people as well as large-scale and micro cross-artform creative events across Hounslow and online.
Bell Square is a purpose-designed outdoor performance space funded by London Borough of Hounslow and Mayor of London.
Bell Square receives funding through partners, who mainly receive their funding from Arts Council England in order to broaden access to the arts. It also receives regeneration funding from London Borough of Hounslow.
More detail is given about each partner below.
As a part of a National Portfolio Organisation Bell Square receives funding from Arts Council England which receives its funding from the UK Government.
Global Streets is a three-year national touring programme – supported by Arts Council England through the Strategic Touring Programme – that sets out to transform communities by bringing the very best international outdoor arts to towns and cities across the country where there is low engagement with the arts.
Founded and managed by FESTIVAL.ORG, the Global Streets partners - including Bell Square - work together to enable audiences in Hounslow, Birmingham, Doncaster, Barking & Dagenham, Liverpool, Hull, Woolwich, Slough, Leicester and Luton to enjoy extraordinary participative outdoor performances by international artists.
London Borough of Hounslow recognises the importance of Bell Square in increasing footfall to and re-energising Hounslow town centre, and therefore contributes to the programme. Since 2022 we are proud to have been working in partnership with Hounslow Council to deliver the borough’s first ever Summer of Culture. Bell Square was also awarded a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to help stage the ANHAD South Asian Outdoor Contemporary Arts Festival in 2022
