GRAVITY AND LEVITY – CRAWDADDY

Sat 26 August, 1pm & 3pm

Crawdaddy is an aerial dance piece by Gravity & Levity for three performers who tumble, spin and glide through a looming wooden and metal aerial rig where different levels of choreographic interactions are played out. The tensile strain of their connective ropes exposes the performer’s vulnerability through their interdependency as they navigate the nature of human relationships, both literally & metaphorically.

Played live, Scott Smith’s taut steel guitar strings release raucous blues and swampy atmospheric loops for Crawdaddy’s imagined setting of backyard Americana.

About the Company

Gravity & Levity is an aerial dance company that was launched in 2003 by Artistic Director Lindsey Butcher. They create aerial dance that redefines what and where a dance floor can be, both for an audience and ourselves. They specialise in vertical dance performance.
